    attend on

You should attend on your ailing mother.

What is the meaning of `attend on` here?

    Could anyone explain it?

'Look after', but it doesn't sound very natural to me- where did you see it?

OR "You should attend to your ailing mother" OR "You should pay attention to your ailing mother"

    Re: attend on

It's not a preposition I would use with 'attend', and I wouldn't use that verb with a family member.
