Wat's the difference between "machine" and "machinery"?

So, what should we choose here?
According to what you have told, it is anything but ABC so it's D, right?
D- it can't be C because a noun is needed. It can't be A because you'd need and article and 'piece of a machine' and 'machines' don't work because a car is a complete machine, not part.
So Machine consists of machinery, right?
