    grammar rules

I need to teach english grammar to a group of adults. Any sugguestions on how to begin would be appreciated. It is my suspicion that the students are immigrants from other countries. How do i proceed with them? I also desire to have a list of rules that i should use. Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Re: grammar rules

    Hi, Jackie,
I think it's reasonable to start with transcription (it's the key to the English language), basic reading and pronunciation rules.
A list of the rules? It would be too long.
The easiest way is to use a good textbook which would gradually build up learners' grammar skill and vocabulary.
I wonder if any of the forum's regulars knows such a book. Maybe, Raymond Murphy's English Grammar in Use (starting from Elementary)?

    Best wishes
