    bagged, freestyle

She bagged a gold medal in the 50 metres freestyle swimming.

Here, what does `bagged' mean in this sentence?

I found, freestyle --- noun: a race (as in swimming) in which each contestant has a free choice of the style to use.

    Here -- style refer to?

    Re: bagged, freestyle

    bagged - won
style - the Olympic styles are breast-stroke, back-crawl, butterfly and freestyle. Freestyle allows a free choice, but most if not all swimmers choose front-crawl; free-style allows a less strict interpretation of the rules about the number of kicks per arm-stroke and regularity/chosen side for breathing (I don't know these rules, and they keep changing, but some competitions impose a very strict version of front-crawl).
