There was an explosion on a pair of buses in Lebanon.
It seems a strange collocation to me. What about you?
Never heard anything like that. Does it mean 2 buses?
It does and it sounds strange to me too. A pair of something is normally used for shoes, etc, where two are required or go together.
After reading your posts I even had a moment of doubt - could I have dreamt it? But no, I did hear it on the BBC World. And I've found the proof:
