    initialing

Could you please explain the meaning of initialing in the following sentence:

This is indeed a typo. Could I therefore ask you to amend the title to read Engineer, initialing the change and then once we receive your signed returned letter I too will initial the change.

What does the person want me to do?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: initialing

If a typo [or any change] is made in a contract, any alteration to that contract must have the initials of both signatories written against (beside) the alteration. This is "initialling" the alteration.
