    headings, captions, titles

    Hi,

could you please tell me what´s the difference between headings, captions and titles?

    E.g.

Section titles, captions and headings contained in this agreement are inserted for convenience and are for reference only.

    Thank you very much.

    Re: headings, captions, titles

Section titles - the side-headings in the main text indicating the start of a new section.

Headings - the side-headings within sections of the text, highlighting the main theme of the sub-section.

Captions - the short texts under pictures or diagrams - so I am not sure how this works within an agreement. It could possibly be used to mean the main title of the entire agreement. Certainly it is used this way in Law.
