There are three people in my family, including me / I.
I believe 'me' is correct, but I would like to confirm.
Thanks in advance.

According to grammar books, 'including' is a preposition and the word which comes after a preposition should be the object form of the pronoun. One good example is 'between you and me."
Are the grammar books correct in saying so since your reply seems to be different from the explanation provided by the books?
I'm asking this question because my daughter insists that it should be 'including I'. So I need to convince her with a reply from this forum.
As usual, thanks in advance for your help, and my apologies for causing you inconvenience.
Many thanks, Casiopea.
One thing about this forum is that the members and moderators discuss things in a logical and friendly manner. The moderators do not have the "I know better" attitude. In other forums, if you question their answer/s, the moderators sometimes do not respond at all.
Even, among the members, not moderators, some members will insist they're right until a moderator steps in. And then the argument stops.
I would like to share the above with you because since joining this forum, I've noticed the difference between this forum and other forums. Even British Council teachers who attend to queries from Singaporeans are very humble. Sometimes they tell you I'm don't know why, but this is the answer. I like their way. I think it's not a shame to say we don't why the answer should be like that. Sometimes they also say they're not sure by saying, " I think it should be like that but I may be wrong." Instead of thinking that the British Council teachers are not good enough, I respect their sincerity.
All the best
We try...
Thank you for your kind words.![]()
