    Question help

Hi, how do I convert this active sentence to passive?
The winner will bring home a brand new car.

    a. A brand new car will be brought home by the winner.
    b. A brand new car is to be brought home by the winner.

    Thanks.

    Re: help

I think either sentence would work as being in passive, but a. would probably be used more often.

    The first one is preffered.

    Re: help

    I agree.
The second one would be the passive of 'The winner is to bring home a brand new car'.

    Re: help

Thanks for all your inputs, I'm really thankful I found this site. I'll be having a teaching demo tomorrow with active/passive voice as my subject matter. I wish I could make it. After almost 10 years of being inactive in the teaching field ( I taught English in the elementary level for 7 years), I've decided to go back. Because the salary of teachers here is so disappointing, I worked as a cashier in a service oriented company. Compared to teaching, the salary was ok, plus the perks/benefits. It was a tough decision, considering that I have kids depending on me.But maybe it's the teacher in me But really, 10 years is 10 years, I feel so nervous, so inconfident.I'm glad you're here, always ready to be of help.
