IŽd like to ask you for a help. I am just trying to translate an article which is full of idiomatic expressions etc. I have solved most of them, but there is still one (actually I am not sure if this is an idiom) I cannot solve. The article is called Funnt History:

Simply the fact that they turned up in boats of some kind proves that the new visitors had more marbles than the poor old native Britons, which wasn't difficult.

I can't undertand the the expression 'to have more marbles'
    Thank you for your time.

    Re: Translation

    Hello Jenda,

It's a slang and means that the visitors were smarter and had more sanity than the native Britons.

    Best wishes,
