    Could you please tell me what does the first sentence mean in the following passage?

    [Society is conditioned to the instant gratification mentality. ]The Internet and e-mail have made all media and other forms of communication become instant and they’ve fostered the quick response desire in all of us.

    You have two question forms here, so normally in a situation like this, we delete the 2nd question marker, ie. 'does'.

    instant gratification mentality = the idea that all one's wants and needs should be supplied quickly and easily with no waiting and no effort.
