    as a consequence

    Hi,
Could we use 'as a consequence' in this way as in
'The only bridge across the river was destroyed in the storm; as a consequence, the explorers were trapped.'
    Thank you.

Yes - perfect example of its use.

Thank you Anglika for your reply. Could we put 'as a consequence' at the end of the sentence as in
'The only bridge across the river was destroyed in the strom, the exploers were trappped as a consequence.'

    Thank you very much.

    Re: as a consequence

You could. It's more awkward as a construct, and you would need to have a semi-colon or a full stop, not a comma.

The only bridge across the river was destroyed in the storm. The explorers were trapped as a consequence.'

    Hi Anglika,
Thank you for correcting my sentence carefully.
