    question about semantic roles

can anyone tell me, if resulting copular verbs always have to be relational processes? and are the participants of a relational process always carrier and resulting attribute, or can they also be an agent or so?

    thank you

    Re: question about semantic roles

Take for example this sentence, The Children ran wild. We know the children ran, that they acted, but they are not the agent. Resulting linking verbs indicate that the role of the verb complement (e.g., 'wild') is a result of the process described in the verb (e.g., 'ran'). In other words, the running resulted in the children becoming wild.

    All the best.
