What's like "could of + past participle"???

    Hello, Teachers

I suppose that the shape of "could of + past participle" would be as same as "could have + pp"

While I'm wondering if it would be useful phrase for native speakers because I rarely hear of that.

Could you someone please help me?

    Thanks in advance

Re: What's like "could of + past participle"???

"I could have been a doctor" is correct.
"I could of been a doctor" is incorrect.

The first one is contracted to "I could've been a doctor". When you say this, it sounds very similar to "I could of been a doctor". This is why the mistake is made.

Thank you very much for your frightful speedy answer !

and I've been able to recognise completely why they wrote it in such a way.
I don't know well whether they write it on purpose though...

Such kind of descriptions are often confused me, because my home country is
    not an English-speaking land.
In usual days, I have almost no chance to speak English through my lip.

thus, I hardly imagine what can become an answer out of such words.

Thanks all the same, Keith !!!

    Regards,
