I know what that Party is capable of

    Hi.....
Once I heard a poloitical conversation on TV ....
Person1 asked person2 why "everything from the liberal perspective" sees conspiracy.
person2 responded "I know what that Party is capable of."
I've heard the underlined statement before but I just couldnt understand it. It seems it has a different meaning ,I mean it's not literelly meaningful.
    PLEASE a good explanation...
    thanks in advance

Depending on the full context, it could literally be "what the Liberal Party is capable of" or it could be "party" being used for "an entity/individual".

    Hi, Jesse,
If I understand your problem correctly, it means I know what kind of people are the members/authorities of that party and what (bad things) they can do, how they are going to act in these circumstances.
I think the speaker implies some disapproval of that party's usual ways, but it depends on the context.
    Regards
