    duty management


    could you please tell me what "duty management" means? For example in a business centre. And who is a "manager on duty"?

    Hello Hanka,

    The "duty manager" or "manager on duty" is the manager who must deal with problems, emergencies, etc. as they arise. For instance, he may have to resolve complaints, take phone calls from members of the public, arrange emergency repairs e.g. to toilets and other facilities, inform the police in the event of a break-in, call an ambulance if there's an accident, etc.

    Usually, several people take it in turns to be the duty manager. For instance, they may each have to work one weekend as duty manager, according to a rota.
