    Smile prescriptive and descriptive language

Hi there. Can anyone explain what the views are of policy makers and commentators in the media, to prescriptive and descriptive language, within the UK and outside the UK. Thanks.

Hello Vegas, welcome to Using English!

That's a tricky one...In what kind of context do you have to answer the question? (For instance, is it for an essay on a particular course?)
