How else did the English Language evolve? Only by people writing it as they feel it. John Major (the former prime minister) wanted teachers to correct pupil's language in the playground, but also wanted them to teach Shakespeare's English (yes, I know...even HE didn't know how to spell his name). Which version of English was to be preserved?
The things I'd ask are where is the full stop...how long do you want people to pause for thought between your phrases....and what comes next? Whichever, the only place for a comma after green is probably in eg 1 below:
eg1. The grass is green, the sky blue sail wafts gently in the breeze.
eg2. The grass is green; (medium pause) the sky, (short pause) blue. (stop to imagine it)
eg3. The grass is green. (stop to imagine it) The sky, blue. (stop to imagine it)
eg4: The grass is green, the sky: blue, the beach: secluded, the surf: ecstatic! (builds up to something worth reading!)
