    Wink we do we write the latter "e" at the end of the words?

    my name is amera i'm 18 years old and i'm from plastine ..... i have question that i will be glad to hear it's answer...
    i wanna know why do we write the latter "e" at the end of some words but we are not reading thiem ?????
    i would like to have the answer because no one knows here the answer of my question

    Without an example, I can only guess you mean words like this:

    platE
    timE
    smilE

    ??

    The silent "e" usually makes the middle vowel a long vowel, so we say plAYte, instead of plAT.
