    1: The man is part of a group of soldiers who are landing to attack an enemy. Another group has already landed and fought the enemy.

    2: When the second group arrive on the beach, they find many dead men.

    3: They also find that the men who were not killed are hiding.
    The men who are hiding are confused (bewildered)
