    Infinitive

I learnt that infinitive is the base form of a verb.

So in the following examples, can I say the highlighted words as an infinitive?

    I will go to picnic.
    I play football.
    I like the man.
Please you help me on this.

infinitive is a non-finite verb phrase, id est, it does not show person or tense.
Only your first sentence contains a bare inf.

Is "bare infinitive" also known as "base form" or "simple form", Svartnik?
    I have always referred to:
    to dance
    to walk
    to sing
    etc...
as "infinitives" (to + base form)

and then drop the "to" for simple form (but, yes, a form that shows no person nor tense!)

Some of my pedagogical grammar books use this term.
