    The word 'gorge'

    When eyes are taken out from a human's head, can one say 'the eyes were gorged out'? Or is this used only when the act is done in a gruesome way?

    No. The word is 'gouged' (and it is gruesome).

    (And it would not be used for any extraction of eyeballs: it usually implies the hooking out of eyeballs with fingers.)
