    freigt

    Hi,

could you please tell me what "freight" means in the following text:

We will pay for extra baggage. Airlines limit one passenger to a total of five bags. Two of these bags are checked as normal baggage and the other three may be shipped as extra baggage for an additional charge per bag. Please contact the airline to find out what their policy is and the costs involved.
Note: it may be more cost effective to freight the extra baggage.

    Thank you very much.

    Hanka

And what exactly does "commercial cargo" mean?

    Re: freigt

It is cargo [goods] being shipped for commercial [profitmaking/trading] purposes. However, if an individual has large quantities of personal luggage, it may be cheaper and quicker to ship it as commercial cargo than to pay the excess charge to have it loaded as passenger luggage. In this case the luggage will be placed in a container and shipped with other containers.
