    would have

I'd like to know the difference between "1" and "2".
    1. I'm sure we had a great time.
    2. I'm sure we would have had a great time.

    1. I'm sure we had a great time. We went somewhere and had a great time (I believe)
    2. I'm sure we would have had a great time This implies that "we" were not able to go/do something.

    Re: would have

In (1) ( your having a great time ) is a fact . In (2) it is a hypothesis or something not thought of as a fact .
    e,g :
    (1) Yesterday I went to a party , I had a great time .
    (2) If I had gone to the party , I would have had a great time .
