    Are these abstract nouns?

Any grammar expert out there , I need help. Abstract nouns are defined as nouns that stand for ideas, feelings, state of being, actions, and events. So I want to know if words like death , birth, war, sale, exhibition , meeting etc are abstract nouns. They are all events and can be seen .

    Re: Are these abstract nouns?

death, birth, war, sale, exhibtion, meeting are all abstract nouns.

Because you cannot view this physically with your naked eye and also you cannot touch it.

It is understood in your mind. You neither see it physically nor touch it.

death, birth = state of being
exhibition, meeting, sale, war = ideas
I hope this help you. [I have tried my best though I am not grammar expert]

    Re: Are these abstract nouns?

Thanks for your quick response user_gary . Some of us teachers in the school where I teach had our doubts about these words.
