    uncontrollable

My mother was totally uncontrolled after quarrelling with a neighbour.

Is 'uncontrolled' correctly used here? If it isn't, what is the correct word that should be used?

    Thanks in advance.

It could be used, but it's not quite right. Hysterical, Carried away, Beside herself, Overwrought would all be better.

I just answered this but I think it got lost somewhere! My apologies if it pops up again
I think I said that "uncontrollable" would be o.k., as would "out of control" and that I believe "uncontrolled" is used to describe actions/behaviours or events more than people. It is odd that she is this way AFTER the quarrel! Perhaps she is inconsolable
