    Punctuation (Comma or Period or ... ?)

    Could someone please have a look at the following sentence for punctuation mistakes? I’ve put parentheses which I myself doubt.

    They are the beginning of life or, as Wordsworth put it, “the child is the father of the man”(.) the origin and the future.

    However, I'd move 'the origin and the future' to before the Wordsworth quote, which would make it the end of the sentence.
