Name of this Creature in English

I'm not sure where I should place this topic, so I posted it here.

    Did anyone watch this show:
Swiss Family Robinson (TV) - Anime News Network

What is the name of the feline black creature:

    http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~xd5t-niy...ehon-1-1-d.jpg

In the show his name is mercury or Mercredi in the French version, but what is the name of its species? In the show they said it's a tropical creature called "soos" in French (not sure of the spelling). But any idea what is its name in English?

    Thanks, :)

It's hard to tell from those pictures. Could it be a bush-baby?

I don't think it's a bush baby. Mercury is black and it's cuter than bush babies

Bush babies are mainly found in Africa, while this creature is supposed to be somewhere near Australia.

Neither nor. It's not a rodent, not a monkey. It's feline and its belly is white.
I'll try to get a video clip from the show and post it here.

Marsupials aren't my strong suit! I've never heard of a cuscus.

Neither have I. I used to think it's fictitious creature.
I uploaded a clip from the French version of the show:
    YouTube - Mercredi et Flo

    Enjoy :)

    Thanks
