    Smile has me a little mad

    It's just that leaving this place behind has me a little sad.


    I know has can be replaced by makes here, but I wonder if the way has is used here is correct or not.

    Yes, that sounds very natural.

    I would say "is making me" is a better substitute than "makes me" - it's a current situation, but not necessarily a permanent or recurring one.
