    Smile acts or actions

In Australia, people would often stop to offer him water or cold beer, and invite him to visit their homes. All of these acts/actions of kindness have given him the courage to continue his journey.

Which fits better here, acts or actions, and why?

    Re: acts or actions

    Acts.

The entire process of being a good host is the act.

An action is more discrete. I open the refrigerator - that's an action. I remove the beer - another action. I open the beer. I give him the beer. Many separate actions to form the one act of offering my guest a beer.
