    trio, spot on

Bangladesh, who hurled India out of the competition at the preliminary stage with an upset win early in the championship, put up another superb team effort to show the potential of their young side, emerging winners by 67 runs.

Defending a competitive target of 252 set courtesy a superb knock of 87 by Mohammad Ashraful, Bangladesh's bowlers were spot on and took full advantage of the low bounce that created doubts in the batsmen's minds.

Left-arm seamer Syed Rasel bagged two early wickets as he dismissed captain Graeme Smith (12) and the reliable Jacques Kallis (32) after which their trio of left-arm spinners took over.
[I didn't find the dictionary meanings appropriate in this context]
So, could explain the highlighted words?
