    little is to be gained

"Little is to be gained by simply substituting the one for another , though there is perhaps little to be gained by arguing the point now."
There is two "little to be gained". Is there any diffence in their meanings or connotations? Does "though" play a role in this contrast?

    Hello nimsooze,
I see no difference at all in the meaning of the two "little to be gained".

    Negative. Not very useful.
Not a very good idea to use the same phrase twice in the same sentence!
