    a lot of/plenty of

    Hi,

1.There is still a lot of time.
There is still plenty of time.

2.There is a lot of wine.
    There is plenty of wine.

Could someone please tell me the difference between 'a lot of' and plenty of'

    Than you very much

The meanings are very similar, but 'plenty of' also suggests that the quantity is 'more than enough'.
