    tuition teacher

In Singapore, a person who teaches a student on a one-to-one basis or in a small group is called a tuition teacher. I believe this is not what a native speaker will called such a teacher.

Do we call him or her a private tutor or tutor?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: tuition teacher

    I'd use 'private tutor'.
