    Questions about English structure..

Hi, please read the below sentences. I'd like to know the structure

of this sentence, especially after comma.

But what causes this movement, the way your thumb causes the peach

    skin move?

In this sentence, "the way' is the same as "this movement".

Is there an omitted word after 'the way'?

    Thank You.

    Hi Juliana,
It looks like "an appositive", which is an noun or noun phrase that is left when a relative clause is reduced. (which is the way your thumb causes the peach to move). There is something about this sentence though that makes this seem more like a noun complement (without a linking verb). Anybody with other thoughts out there?
