    Best Structure? (Only native speakers please.)

    Could someone please tell me which one is best?

    The poet mentions the sounds to create an auditory image, and to demonstrate the tranquility of the scene.

    OR

    The poet mentions the sounds to create an auditory image to demonstrate the tranquility of the scene.

    OR

    The poet mentions the sounds to create an auditory image for demonstrating the tranquility of the scene.

    Why not:

    ...create an auditory image demonstrating the tranquility...

    ...create an auditory image that demonstrates the tranquility...

    I don't see the need for a prepositional phrase in your sentence.
