    off

I walked off to the shop.
    Is the sentence correct.
Shouldn't it be: 'I walked to the shop' ?

If the first sentence is correct, what is the difference between the two sentences.

    Both are okay.
To me the sentence with off emphasises (more) the fact that you left the place where you had been.
