    Facing or Faced with

    Which one of the following two is correct? Thank you.

    - Facing a very difficult business environment, we will have to work extra harder.

    - Faced with a very difficult business environment, we will have to work extra harder.

    I think they are both technically correct (although harder doesn't seem right to me for some reason)
    #1= Because we are facing...
    #2=Because we are faced with...

    It is a little strange using the future (will have to work) with the present continuous in #1 but it isn't wrong. #2 carries the possibility of the "business environment" suddenly becoming "very difficult", so the use of the future does not seem as awkward.

    I use "facing" and very often come across it in different situations.
