    Dear teachers,
    I have just taken an examI am not sure of certain choices are correct or not. If I am wrong could you please kindly explain why I am wrong?

    I agree with queenbu, "can". Now, if indirect speech, then "could".

    I wonder what the missing word in 5 is. The Italian word 'eventualmente' would fit in perfectly but in English it's translated as ''if need be' or 'if necessary' and certainly not as 'eventually'.
    So ..... I can say I've passed the exam with flying colours, Casiopea?

    I'd accept either b or d, but neither makes a lot of sense; perhaps b is preferable, after nearly closing the door - meaning "Oh, and I almost forgot to say...'.

    For 8, I agree with Casi that both 'expanse' and 'stretch' are acceptable, but because of the strength of the collocation 'limitless expanse' I'd choose that.
