    have taken its toll

    There are times when you get a little tired playing the One-Day matches, the injury factors he would have had most certainly have taken its toll but I still believe that he has got lot to offer to India.

    Please explain the highlighted group of words.

    That's not a terribly well-written sentence, Gary, but I would understand the highlighted part to mean that 'injuries have affected his performance negatively'.

    Here is a definition for the idiom "take a toll".
