    Comprehension

    Dear teachers,
I have difficulty understanding the following sentence:
Each would then have felt as sure of the truth of his opinion as he now feels---of the truth of the opposite opinion.
    Does it mean:
Each would then have felt as sur of the truth of his opinion as the truth of the opinion of which is opposite to his?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Thank you in advance.

    Jiang

    Re: Comprehension

After reading the sentence and your interpretation a couple of time, I believe you're right.

I believe your interpretation is correct.

Crazy, but yes, (not sure of context entirely, so tense might be off):
Each person is now certain that the opposite of what he/she originally believed is true (and is just as certain about it as he/she was about his/her original belief)

Perhaps I'm hindering more than helping!! Uh-oh

    That's really well explained actually.
