    Is 'of' needed?

The number of employees in this company is ten times as many as that (of) two yeas ago.

Is 'of' required in the sentence?

    Thanks in advance.

    I suggest the following statements:

    1. The number of employees in this company is ten times as many than that of two years ago.

    2. The number of employees in this company is ten times as many as of two years ago.

Just tell me if I had helped you

The sentence is awkward and actually does not make sense. I would suggest:

The number of employees in this company is ten times higher that it was two years ago.

    OR

There are ten times as many employees in this company than there were two years ago.
