    So it came about that Joanna and I, looking through house-agents' catalogues, selected Little Furze, Lymstock, mainly because we had never been to Lymstock, and knew no one in that part of the world.

    Joanna and I have been looking for a house and selected this house from lists sent by the house-agents because we have never been to this town and we do not known anyone there.

    It seems they want to hide/run away from something!
