    I need your help

Please show me the difference in usage between these words :
    * Much of - A great deal of
    * Many of - A large number of

And in which circumstance we use “much of” and which one we use “a great deal of” ? I can’t discriminate them.

    Thanks so much !

Think of "much" as if it was a bucket full of water and "many" as it it was a basket filled with oranges. One is a mass and the other is a group of individual objects.
