    a word

I don't understand how the word 'retreat' is translated in the sentence:

'There were other retreats: bar and television-room'

    Thanks in advance,

    Best,

    Olga

    Re: a word

"Retreat" is being used here as a noun meaning a place of privacy; a place affording peace and quiet.
