    Grammar Question

    Hello,

    can somebody please help me to understand the difference between the two sentences - do they mean the same????

    If I had the time, Id learn to play guitar.
    If I have the time, Ill learn to play guitar.

    Hello petrit,

    If I had the time, Id learn to play guitar. I really don't have the time, but if I did, I would learn to play. In other words, learning to play isn't going to happen.

    If I have the time, Ill learn to play guitar. It's possible I will have the time, and if I do, I will learn to play.
