    report

Is there any difference between the following sentences?
    1. Moms with jobs reported working 49.8 hours in the home.
    2. Moms with jobs were reported to work 49.8 hours in the home.
    Thanks!

The first is a direct report from the "Moms"; the second is a report made by someone else who has researched the question.
