    year old

I would like to know if there is any difference between :
The 25-year-old pop singer/The 25 years old pop singer.

    I am 24-year-old/ I am 24 years old

are they correct?which is the most common structure?
    Thank you in advance

    I am 24 years old
    I am 24-year-old

I think that "24-year-old" functions as an adjective here (modifier). It must be followed by a noun as it is the case in the 1st example:
    The 25-year-old pop singer

A teacher or a native speaker might give you a better explanation.
