is this sentence ok?
His daughter had given him the satisfaction of becoming grandfather
What I'd like to convey is the idea of a proud grandad for his daughter having given him two nephews...................
This sentence does not sound correct to me (and I guess I am not wrong) but I don't know how to put it....![]()
Maybe '... after two grandsons, his daughter had at last given him the satisfaction of being grandfather to a baby girl.'
b
yes they are grandchildren and, not, it is not a girl coming ut after twe boys but simply he has become grandad for the first time ever........
One more doubt. Is it ok to modify the sentence this way:
His daughter, with the birth of Andrew, had given him the satisfaction of becoming a grandfather
Thanks
That's fine.
For smoothness you could rephrase it:
With the birth of Andrew, his daughter ...
Thanks a lot for your help! Have a nice day![]()
