    Post definite article

    Hello,

I would like to know which one is correct:
1-The Mexican people eat a lot of spicy food
2- Mexican people eat a lot of..
    3- The Mexican eat...

    Which one is correct:

    a) The use of language?
    b) The use of the language?

*When should I use 'the' with words like 'next' and 'last'??

    Thank you very much.

    Re: definite article

The is definite; when you hear or read it, you know the noun it modifies is defined (already known to both the speaker and the listener or is about to be defined, like this,

1- The Mexican people (that) we met eat a lot of spicy food.

2- Mexican people, in general, eat a lot of..

    3- The Mexicans eat... <specific>

    ----------------------------

    a) The use of language
    b) The use of the language

Same rules apply. The makes language either specific--not general--or known.

    ----------------------------

When should I use 'the' with words like 'next' and 'last'?
    Which examples are troubling you?
